
Successfully supported the 500KW – 860KWH energy storage project in Malaysia

In early January, the 500KW/860KWH lithium battery energy storage system and diesel generator hybrid power supply project jointly built by ALLTOP and local energy enterprises in Malaysia was successfully connected to the grid and debugged in Sabah, Malaysia. As a demonstration project of the “photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel engine” smart microgrid in Southeast Asia, this energy source has effectively solved the problem of power supply stability in off-grid areas. It provides an innovative solution for stable power supply in outlying islands and remote areas, facilitating the green transformation of the local energy structure.
The intelligent hybrid system solves the power supply problem
The project site is constantly confronted with problems such as large fluctuations in the power grid, high costs of diesel power generation and environmental pressure. The newly-built energy storage system is equipped with high-performance lithium iron phosphate batteries, which can respond to grid demands within 0.2 seconds. Combined with an intelligent energy management system, it achieves precise coordination between diesel generators and energy storage: daily loads are prioritized by the energy storage system, significantly reducing the operating time of diesel engines. In extreme circumstances, the system seamlessly switches to a diesel backup power supply to ensure 24-hour uninterrupted power supply. It is estimated that this system can reduce diesel consumption by over 120,000 liters and lower carbon emissions by more than 300 tons annually.

Technological integration promotes energy sustainability
The core energy storage cabinet of this project adopts a modular design, supporting later expansion. It is also equipped with a remote monitoring platform that can optimize the charging and discharging strategies in real time. The project party stated: “The hybrid system not only leverages the emergency advantages of diesel power generation but also achieves efficient utilization of clean energy through energy storage, providing replicable low-carbon models for scenarios such as islands and mining areas.” ” At present, the system has been connected to the power demand of local key facilities.
The project is specially customized for the high-temperature and high-humidity environment in tropical regions. The battery cabinet adopts IP54 protection level and liquid cooling temperature control technology to ensure stable operation in an environment with a temperature above 35℃. The smart operation and maintenance platform supports remote monitoring. Local technicians have formed professional operation and maintenance teams after specialized training.
This hybrid power supply mode not only reduces the electricity cost of industrial communities, but also compresses the operating time of diesel generator sets by 60%, significantly extending the service life of the equipment. The technical engineer of the Chinese side of the project said. The successful operation of this system has provided a replicable model for the power supply renovation of over 2,000 outlying island communities in Malaysia. The second phase of the project plans to expand energy storage capacity and connect new photovoltaic arrays.

Contribute to Malaysia’s green goals
The Malaysian government plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy to 40% by 2030. The successful implementation of this project not only alleviates the economic and environmental pressure of traditional diesel power supply, but also lays a technical foundation for the large-scale integration of intermittent renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power.
